Adamson University posted an official announcement on its Facebook page declaring an academic post-election break from May 13-16, 2022.
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced the unofficial results of the leading candidates
after the elections that occurred on May 9.
“To give our students the time to address post-election stress and take the time to reflect on their election experience, the Administration is declaring an academic post-election break from May 13-16, 2022.” Adamson University stated.
“It was nice of Adamson to provide a post-election break for its students, not only that online school is very draining to a student like me but also, the partial result of the elections. The university was nice enough to give time for us students to be able to process what is happening and to be ready for what is going to happen in the future.” Hannah Valiola, a Civil Engineering student commented regarding the academic post-election break.
She said that she was very dissatisfied with the post-election results. As a student, she does her best to be able to provide for herself. She did a lot of research regarding these elections because this is her first time voting and she felt like her vote can give a chance not only to the Philippines but also to its people.
“A lot of non-students or older people are angry because Adamson University gave us a post-election break. It was disappointing to see that people think we are robots who do everything that they ask for. We are also humans, we get tired and drained every day. Being able to have a post-election break means so much to us students who put a lot of pressure on us.” she added.
The Adamson University also mentioned that all pre-scheduled institutional activities, including the Annual Physical Examination, will continue despite having no classes and office work during the said period.
“Let us all use this time to restore our energy, reflect and heal from the present events. May we all find peace and comfort in one another as we deal with the challenges ahead of us.” (Sgd) FR. Marcelo V. Manimtim, CM, the University President said.
