As the alert level status lowered nationwide, the Department of Education (DepEd) expects the resumption of the traditional learning system of education.
Over 6,000 schools are prepared for the implementation of face-to-face classes. 4239 public schools and 76 private schools had already started last March 1, 2022.
However, the execution of face-to-face classes will be conditional on the current situation based on the conclusion administered by the superintendents and regional directors.
DepEd also made a statement that a full vaccination is not obligatory for the students to attend face-to-face classes, yet, they still encourage being vaccinated for the safety of the community. On the other end, teachers and other non-educational personnel are required to be fully vaccinated for greater welfare.
According to Education Chief Leonor Briones, there is no reason for the delay in reopening face-to-face classes. Blended learning should be practiced as a way to broaden face-to-face sessions and better incorporate technology into student learning to better educate students for professions that require 21st-century skills.
"We are not giving up blended learning but we are emphasizing as well the importance of face-to-face (classes) within the framework of consciousness as Filipino and having our own culture, history, and our send of identity," Briones explained.
