A “Thanksgiving” event happened at Ateneo De Manila Field last May 13, 2022. This event was dedicated to one of the most historical presidential campaigns that happened in the country in support of Vice President Leni Robredo and running mate Kiko Pangilinan.

The majority of the nation was greeted in shock by the unexpected results of the election this May 2022. Professionals, artists, teachers, lawyers, and youth of this generation or the ‘Kakampinks' came together in unity to show their undying support and gratefulness up to the end for all the efforts and hard work of the Vice President.

At the beginning of the speech, Leni consoled her supporters. “Una sa lahat, gusto ko pong sabihin sa inyong lahat na nauunawaan ko ang pinagdaraanan ninyo. ‘Yung panghihinayang, siguro sa iba, pagkadismaya. ‘Yung pakiramdam na lumabas tayo sa nakasanayan para makinig, pero tayo, hindi napakinggan (First of all, I want to tell you all that I understand what you are going through. The disappointment and loss. The feeling that we went out of our way to listen, but we were never heard).”

Leni assured that she and her team were on the move to find an answer to the irregularity reports about the election. She is strictly in opposition to disinformation and injustice since her principles always align with transparency and consistency. “Ninakaw nito ang katotohanan, kaya ninakaw din ang kasaysayan, pati na ang kinabukasan (It stole the truth, the history, as well as the future).”

She said that this is not the end of the service for the Filipinos, it is only the beginning. At the same time as Thanksgiving, she proudly announced the ‘Angat Buhay NGO’ program that will be launched on the first day of July. The biggest volunteer network in the country’s history reflecting the ‘Pink Revolution’ movement.

“Walang nasayang. Hindi tayo nabigo. Masasayang lang ang ating pinagsikapan kung titigil tayo at babalik sa dating kalakaran. Gaya ng sabi ko: ang namulat, hindi na muling mapipikit (Nothing was wasted. We have not failed. We will only be in vain if we stop and go back to the old routine. As I said: the one who awakens, will never close their eyes again).”

Expressing her heartwarming gratitude, Leni gave thanks to all the ‘Kakampinks’ who fought with her until this day. She assured that all their hard work didn’t go to waste and together they will continue to fight a bigger battle for the nation as she encouraged the people to unite with her as she lead the Angat Buhay NGO, an anti-poverty program with the main essence of lifting the lives of Filipinos and on the service of those who are in need.
