Creamline grabbed the spotlight at the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference 2022 after a four-set Game 2 finals over Petro Gazz, 25-18, 15-25, 25-23, 25-16 in Ynares Center, Antipolo on April 8, 2022.
The Cool Smashers, dominating the Angels from their four-set Game 1 Finals, defeated them once again, earning their fourth title Championship this year’s PVL Conference.
Creamline’s superstars, Finals MVP Alyssa Valdez, Former MVP Jema Galanza, and Conference MVP Tots Carlos lead the Cool Smasher’s triumph, giving a record of 20, 17, 16 points along with the support of their Multi-time Best Setter, Jia De Guzman, with 35 excellent sets on top of her 4 points.
Petro Gazz started the first set with a 3-point lead over Creamline. With De Guzman’s strong will to change the odds, Creamline recovered from errors and regained their composure, with Tots Carlos ending the first set.
Petro Gazz escalated in the second set with Myla Pablo’s appearance along with Remi Palma entering at 14-21 and a strengthened defense from MJ Phillips, giving a 10-point score gap to bury the Smashers.
Both teams being tied a set, the crowd roars loud as the Angels and Smashers score points.
With strong coverage from Atienza and attacks from the spikers, Creamline seized the opportunity to claim the third set with Carlos’s escaped hit from a triple block.
Even with Best Outside Spiker Grethcel Soltones’s attempt to save the Angels despite a right knee injury, the Creamline still ended the match as their path to victory from Domingo’s last point quick hit for the final set.
Creamline, along with the crowd, celebrated their championship inside the Ynares Center, gaining their third out of four Open Conference titles, now diverting their focus to the Reinforced Conference happening this time of the year.
