After months of indecision, Filipina weightlifting superstar Hidilyn Diaz has decided to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will be her fifth Olympic appearance.
Julius Naranjo, the Philippines’ 1st Olympic gold medalist, including her coach, posted on their social media where it was confirmed.

“We know this is clear, our goals, our aspirations,” Naranjo stated, who is also Diaz’s fiancé. “Everything is achievable because we will manifest it, and work for it.”
Diaz remained tight-lipped on her prospective comeback to the Paris Olympics after dazzling the world with her historic gold medal-winning lift in Tokyo.
Despite this, the great lifter has committed to compete in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in May and the 19th Asian Games in September, putting an end to immediate retirement rumors.
The former Asiad and SEA Games gold medalist, on the other hand, skipped the 2021 World Weightlifting Championships, opting to focus on her training instead.
